The situation between CM Punk and the AEW EVPs has escalated from vague verbal shots to shoot fights with potential legal implications in just a couple of weeks.
In a recent report, Fightful Select confirmed that Young Bucks and Kenny Omega confronted Punk backstage after his media scrum comments. There was a physical altercation between Punk and Bucks. It’s believed that Omega wasn’t involved in this fight. He instead had a fight with CM Punk’s trainer Ace Steel:
“We’re told that “Ace Steel shoot cracked Nick Jackson with a chair,” with another person saying they think he’s lucky to not be in jail.”
The report indicated that Steel received huge amount of backstage heat due to his actions. He is most likely done with the promotion after All Out:
“There was an incredible amount of heat on Ace Steel after this situation, with one person saying they weren’t sure what happened, but that “it couldn’t have possibly escalated to hitting someone with a chair. Several sources in AEW that we spoke with said that they believe Ace Steel will not be back in the company after this incident.”
Security was called once the stars got physical and many wrestlers tried to break up the fight. The argument between Punk and the EVPs continued with a lot of cursing and shouting until The Elite finally left the arena.
