CM Punk is in news again and it’s not making people in AEW happy.

The company presented the biggest show in its history from Wembley Stadium this past Sunday in ALL IN.  The show was filled with many highlight moments and it gave fans a lot to talk about.

The discussions about the show, however, were once again eclipsed by a CM Punk controversy. The real AEW world champion got into a backstage altercation with Jack Perry. This came after Perry made a remark aimed towards Punk during his pre-show match. The confrontation turned physical and led to both the stars being sent home before the show was over.

Reaction to CM Punk incident

Wade Keller of PWTorch provided some update on how the incident is being seen backstage. He noted that sources close to management believe that Perry will receive more blame for the situation:

“Another AEW source close to management believes Perry, in this situation, will end up with more of the blame than Punk because he initiated the situation with his comments live during his match since he should’ve known it would cause an issue.”

Though people in AEW aren’t happy with CM Punk either. According to the report, many are frustrated that the backstage issues involving Punk once again became the focal point of discussion after an excellent show:

“Several people in AEW – wrestlers and people in other roles – are frustrated with the fact that a behind the scenes incident with Punk once again distracted from what they are touting as an excellent show and a high point in AEW’s history otherwise,”
