AEW reportedly ‘very interested’ in recently released WWE Superstar

All Elite Wrestling are reportedly very interested in recently released WWE Superstar Buddy Murphy. In a recent episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer confirmed that the company are looking at potentially bringing in the former rival of Malakai Black.

‘I know [Impact Wrestling] is after Buddy Murphy and AEW is as well,’ Dave Meltzer claimed on the radio show, indicating that there will be a lot of interest in Murphy when his 90-day non-compete comes up at the end of August.

Meltzer had already claimed in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that IMPACT Wrestling were extremely interested in signing Buddy Murphy.

“Don’t know anything regarding AEW, but do know that Impact is making a major play for the former Murphy” Meltzer wrote in this week’s edition.

Buddy Murphy will be facing AEW star and FTW Champion Brian Cage in his first post-WWE match since leaving the company.

Brian Cage confirmed on Instagram that he would be facing the ’˜Best Kept Secret’ on Saturday, September 18 at the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia for the Battleground Championship Wrestling promotion.
