An AEW star was recently informed that he had been released from the company by Christopher Daniels due to “budget cuts.”

Fightful Select recently posted a story on the situation, with Marko Stunt having now been told that he will be released from the company.

The site noted: “We’re told that last week, Marko Stunt got the call from AEW talent relations in the form of Christopher Daniels and was informed that the company would not be renewing his contract.

“It was claimed that Daniels’ cited budget cuts and a large roster as the reason that the deal was not renewed” Fightful noted.

Marko Stunt released from AEW

Stunt has not appeared on AEW programming in around six months, and Christopher Daniels also apparently mentioned that “plans had changed for Jurassic Express.”

The now-former AEW star sustained a concussion back in October 2021, and has reportedly “not been booked or given a reason why” he hasn’t been booked.

Fightful concluded by noting that Stunt “did make an effort to reach out to the company to get booked to prove himself for a contract renewal.”

With the All Elite roster getting quite bloated, it is now likely that we will see even more OG stars from the roster released over the next six months or so.
