Andrade El Idolo: AEW manager changed after ‘complaints’

Last updated

It was confirmed on this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite that Andrade El Idolo will now be managed by former WWE Superstar Chavo Guerrero.

Andrade had previously been accompanied to the ring by Vickie Guerrero, however, it was revealed by Dave Meltzer on the latest Wrestling Observer Radio that there were ‘complaints’ and the storyline direction was changed.

It wasn’t confirmed by Meltzer who was complaining about Vickie Guerrero being the manager of Andrade; however, it was felt by AEW and Tony Khan himself that a change had to be made.

Andrade El Idolo will now be feuding with Death Triangle going forward, with PAC, Penta El Zero M and Rey Fenix interrupting the Mexican star during the segment.

Andrade El Idolo and Chavo Guerrero

We do not know at this time if Andrade El Idolo himself requested the change of manager, or as Chavo Guerrero is being called, consultant. What we do know is that there was enough noise from somewhere for Tony Khan to change the direction of the character.

‘I guess sometimes when you complain a lot things happen. [Chavo] was not the surprise, this was a change. Tony Khan made a change from Vickie Guerrero to a new manager, and the new manager is Chavo Guerrero. So, that was not the original plan. The original plan was Vickie Guerrero.’

For now, Vickie Guerrero appears to only be managing Nyla Rose on AEW programming. Rose was defeated by Dr Britt Baker D.M.D on this week’s episode of Dynamite in a match for the AEW Women’s Championship.
