AEW Star: Details of the Arrest

The Orlando Police Department apprehended Wheeler, charging him with a single count of aggravated assault with a firearm. The county records confirm that the court proceedings took place in Circuit Court.

The video of the arraignment provides a glimpse into the legal proceedings. Wheeler’s attorney, representing the AEW World Tag Team Champion, revealed that Wheeler had voluntarily turned himself in the previous night.

The attorney stated, “To my right is Mr. Wheeler. Daniel Wheeler. He turned himself in late last night on a warrant from the Orlando Police Department. The charge was aggravated assault with a firearm. It’s a third-degree felony.”

Bond and Conditions

The defence requested a bond of $2,500 for Wheeler, emphasising that he should have no contact with the alleged victims and should not possess any weapons.

The attorney highlighted Wheeler’s clean record, his age of 36, his US citizenship, and his property ownership in Maitland as reasons for the bond request.

Interestingly, Wheeler reportedly does not know the identity of the alleged victims. The State did not object to the bond amount, noting that the incident seemed to be a result of road rage.

The alleged victim claimed that Wheeler brandished a handgun during the altercation.
