This weekend, the wrestling world is set to witness a unique spectacle as two major events, AEW Collision and WWE SummerSlam, are scheduled to take place simultaneously. CM Punk: Take on the Situation

In a recent interview with Sports Illustrated, Punk addressed the overlapping events. He dismissed the notion of AEW Collision competing with WWE SummerSlam.

According to Punk, the real competition is not with other events but with their own past performances. He emphasized that the goal is to outdo what they achieved in the previous week, both as individuals and as a team.

“We are not competing with SummerSlam. We are going to go up against college football soon. We have already been up against monster UFC cards every single Saturday. We are not competing with them. We are competing with what we did last Saturday.

“I am competing with who I was yesterday as a human being and a pro wrestler, and we, as the Collision team, are competing with what we did last Saturday. That’s always going to be what we are striving to do, and I think that’s an important message for the fans to understand,” Punk said.

The Challenge of Saturday Night

Punk acknowledged that Saturday is a challenging day for television, but he also pointed out the benefits. He believes that despite the uphill battle, it’s easier to sell tickets for a Saturday night show than on other weekdays.

The AEW team is not only ready for the challenge but also enjoys it. According to Punk, they have outdone themselves so far.
