There have been a lot of reports recently regarding CM Punk and his apparent behaviour backstage in AEW, but what is going on?
Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer discussed the situation regarding Punk and a recent All Elite talent meeting held by Tony Khan.
“There is turmoil. It’s a lot of stuff going on in a short period of time, but in a lot of ways, it’s not as much turmoil as people think ’“ but there is turmoil” Meltzer began talking about the situation backstage.
“That said, I did say that one of the things they needed to address, which they did not, is the CM Punk situation” Meltzer continued.
“A lot of what’s happened stems from that, and I didn’t think they would bring it up because that would be a very difficult subject in a lot of ways, but there are people who believe that Punk is the reason that Cabana is not in the Dark Order and not in AEW” the writer continued.
“Although, he [Cabana] is signed to Ring of Honor I believe for the same money he was making in AEW. But I know also that Punk has told people that’s not the case” Meltzer concluded.
CM Punk Backstage Issues
I have absolutely no clue what is and isn’t storyline at this point and credit to All Elite Wrestling and Tony Khan for pulling that off.
Do I think that Punk is causing some issues? Yes, I have no doubt at all that he is, but he still seems willing to go out on television and work.
