New AEW signee CM Punk made an appearance on this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite. The straight edge star was cutting a promo in-ring before being attacked by 2.0 and Daniel Garcia.

Darby Allin and Sting then came in to make the save for CM Punk, with both hitting a Coffin Drop and Scorpion Death Drop to Punk’s attackers respectively.

Punk would also get quick revenge during the segment, hitting his Go 2 Sleep/GTS finisher on Jeff Parker of 2.0. This was the first time in 7 years that the straight edge star had hit the move on a televised pro wrestling show.

CM Punk and Darby Allin then stared daggers at each other before the end of the segment, leading to Sting announcing that he would not be at ringside for their massive match this Sunday at AEW All Out.
