Darby Allin Talks Working With ‘The Icon’ Sting in AEW

Last updated

AEW star and TNT Champion Darby Allin recently spoke to The Total Slam Podcast. The former pro skateboarder discussed a number of topics during his time on the show, including working with ‘The Icon’ Sting over the past month.

‘I don’t know where it is going and how it came up,’ Allin said, discussing the the storyline between himself, Sting and Team Taz. ‘I feel like he saw something in me that is almost lost in wrestling today with the creative side of things. He saw my videos and it’s something different, and I feel he sees a little bit of himself in me.’

Darby Allin and Sting

As mentioned, Darby Allin is in an ongoing storyline with Sting and Team Taz. The TNT Champion has been joined in the ring on multiple occasions with Sting; although his intentions have not yet been made clear on television. Allin and Sting will be facing Ricky Starks and Brian Cage at AEW’s next PPV event Revolution. That match has been listed as a street fight.

It has not been confirmed how the match will play out; although it is extremely likely that it will be a ‘cinematic’ style of bout. The success of The Undertaker’s Boneyard Match at last year’s WrestleMania has given the likes of Sting the opportunity to continue ‘wrestling’ on screen but in a way that will not be detrimental to his health.
