Here’s why Eddie Kingston was suspended by AEW

It was recently revealed that Eddie Kingston had been suspended by All Elite Wrestling, but why was he actually suspended from the company?

It turns out that Kingston and Sammy Guevara had an altercation backstage, where Guevara apparently said something that Kingston did not like about his physique and Eddie reacted violently.

The suspension is now over, but Kingston has been off of television for some time and his AEW ALL OUT match against Guevara is in doubt.

Fightful Select recently reported on the situation, saying: “Kingston has not been present at recent All Elite Wrestling segments, and we’ve been told of at least one segment to build up the once-planned All Out match that was scrapped.

“Rumours among talent that we’ve heard about said that Guevara and Kingston had developed heat and it devolved into an ‘altercation.’

“The word backstage was that Guevara made a comment about Kingston’s physique, and Kingston took a swing at him. We’ve not confirmed that with anyone that witnessed it, and reached out to both parties. “

Clearly, this is something that AEW decided to sort behind closed doors and it is now essentially a non-factor going forward.

Kingston has said publicly that he reacted unprofessionally in the situation, but we have not yet heard from Guevara.

Speaking to PWInsider, Kingston said: “You know the truth. I wouldn’t lie. I was wrong for being unprofessional. That is the blind fact. He did what he did and the public can judge that but I know for a fact I was wrong.”

Hopefully, the company will still announce a match between the two at the ALL OUT PPV event on Sunday, September 4th 2022.
