Injured AEW Star set to make his return to television shortly

Last updated

It has been reported that AEW star Rey Fenix will be making his return to All Elite Wrestling programming shortly. Fenix has been out of action for some time, with the two remaining members of Death Triangle working sporadically with Eddie Kingston.

The Lucha star had his last match in AEW in April, as part of an edition of AEW Dark: Elevation. Rey Fenix beat Best Friend’s Chuck Taylor in the contest.

Rey Fenix has been out of action due to a groin injury which was reportedly sustained during a match in Mexico. This injury lead to the lucha star missing out on the Double Or Nothing pay-per-view back in May.

The Lucha Bros (Fenix and Penta El Zero Miedo) will be defending their AAA World Tag Team Titles in a Triple Threat match at AAA’s TripleMania XXIX event.

AAA star Laredo Kid & Hijo del Vikingo and Black Taurus and a mystery partner will be the Champion’s challenger’s on Saturday, August 14 from Arena Ciudad de México in Mexico City, Mexico.

“Rey Fenix is ready to return”

It is not confirmed when Rey Fenix will be making his return to the company, however it was indicated in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that he is ready to return any time now.

The card for AEW’s next PPV event ALL OUT is already starting to take shape, and there’s a very good chance that we will be seeing Eddie Kingston and Penta El Zero M take on The Young Bucks again for the coveted titles.
