Jim Cornette On Jungleboy – “He Could Be a Star If They Drag Him Away From Those Two Clowns”

Last updated

Former NWA commentator and outspoken pro wrestling personality Jim Cornette recently discussed AEW star Jungleboy.

Cornette is usually quite clear in his hatred for the All Elite product, however he had some kind words for the son of Luke Perry. “They (AEW) think, to have Jungleboy on there? They’ve got to have the f*cking goofy dinosaur and the little midget, and they don’t” Cornette would begin on The Drive Thru podcast.

Jim Cornette would then state Jungleboy could be a big star in pro wrestling, on one condition. “If they get Jungleboy away from those two clowns? He would be a star, but they (Luchasaurus and Marko Stunt) drag him down. AEW don’t know how to push a star anyway, so I mean it’s a moot point.”

Cornette would finish by lambasting AEW for changing Jungleboy’s entrance music. AEW President Tony Khan recently confirmed that he had purchased the rights to 80’s hit Tarzan Boy, and this would be Jungleboy’s entrance song going forward. Jungleboy himself was actually quite happy with the change, writing on twitter; “Very first @AEW match of 2021 in the books. Thanks @TonyKhan for the song. You really are the best. Looking forward to what this year has to bring!”

Despite this, Cornette said it was out of touch. “People said I have f*cking old fashioned taste in music! A 35 year old f*cking pop song for cool, young Jungleboy!? Son of a f*cking famous movie star? F*cking hell.”
