AEW star Joey Janela reportedly has heat backstage and he will not be re-signing when his contract comes due.
According to a new report from PWInsider, there is heat behind the scenes as some feel that Janela is “dangerous” in the ring.
“In asking around today, AEW sources confirmed that Janela’s suspicions were 100% right and that there was a lot of heat on him for the Kingston injury, as it prevented Kingston from travelling for several weeks and changed plans for TV and the Jericho feud as the promotion waited for Kingston to heal” the site revealed.
“Janela was also right in that there was an internal belief that there were several talents had been hurt while working with him in the ring, which obviously worked against him” PWInsider concluded.

It remains to be seen what Janela will do in the industry going forward, but he has a pretty decent run on the independents to fall back on.
Janela is of course one of the mainstays of Game Changer Wrestling/GCW, so he will definitely continue to feature on cards for the promotion going forward.
