There were reportedly some major changes made to the AEW Tag Team Championships due to the recent Jeff Hardy incident.

According to a recent report from Fightful Select, Tony Khan had been considering putting the All Elite tag team titles on the Hardy Boys.

“Talent that Fightful spoke with indicated that word had made it to them prior to AEW Double or Nothing that All Elite Wrestling was considering putting the tag team titles on the Hardy Boyz.

“The duo were on what Jeff Hardy admitted WrestleMania weekend was their last run” Fightful continued, outlying the situation.

“Frustration emerged out of that weekend from some talent that we spoke to, who gained word that Hardy had been intoxicated publicly both there and in the lobby at the talent hotel prior to another event.

“Hardy’s performance at AEW Double or Nothing was cause for concern for talent as well, though it was claimed that Hardy sustained a head injury early in the match” Fightful concluded.

It is not currently known what the status will be of Hardy going forward. Tony Khan did reveal that he would be suspended without pay until he has been through rehabilitation.

It’s hoped that Hardy is able to get through this and return to the company at some point in the future. What isn’t known is if that is actually possible at this juncture.
