Mercedes Mone/Sasha Banks has claimed that she is a free agent and is able to go wherever she wants to.
The former WWE star made her NJPW debut at Wrestle Kingdom 17. She has since become the IWGP Women’s Champion. The latest reports however suggest that she has only one more date left with the company.
In the meantime, there has been constant talks of Mone potentially joining AEW. With the announcement of Forbidden Door 2 in Canada, many people think this is the perfect opportunity for her to finally make her debut for Tony Khan’s promotion.
Mercedes Mone is a free agent
Among all this, Mercedes Mone has continued talking about her status. During her recent appearance on Planet Comicon 2023 (via COOLTOY) (H/t WrestleZone), the IWGP champion said that she never expected to be in a different company than WWE:
‘I never expected to be in a different company. I really want to make this something so special, and I really want to take this title all over the world and defend it everywhere, not just in New Japan.
Mone also fuelled the AEW rumors by saying she is a free agent. According to her, she can go to any company she wants:
“I’m a free agent. I can do whatever I want, any time I want, any company I want. It just depends on the bag. It depends on the bag and the money.”
