Potential HUGE update on MJF’s wrestling future

MJF may not be going to WWE after all.

The contractual status of the current AEW World Champion has been one of the biggest mysteries of recent times. The young star has been playing up the angle of his current contract expiring in 2024 and teasing a potential move to WWE when it does.

Though many people also believe that the Salt of The Earth has actually signed a contract extension with Tony Khan’s promotion already. This is the reason why the company is comfortable positioning him at the top of the card instead of being more cautious.

MJF is staying

Haus of Wrestling recently provided an update on the current champion that might confirm the theory. They claimed that there has been ‘zero talks’ between MJF and WWE, which is a sign that he will not be switching companies any time soon:

“Haus of Wrestling has heard from several WWE sources who believe Friedman has quietly re-signed with AEW. One higher-up WWE source stated that there have been ‘zero talks’ between the two sides. They further noted that the idea Friedman is set to enter free agency imminently is a ‘false narrative’ and that they believe he has re-signed into 2027.”

There have also been some reports of MJF being banged up coming out of his Full Gear match against Jay White. Though he is not expected to miss any TV time. He is expected to continue rehab while being on TV and wrestle at the upcoming World’s End PPV from Long Island, NY on December 30.
