MJF has no tolerance for Hulk Hogan.
The AEW World Champion is on a historic run. Having surpassed Kenny Omega as the longest reigning world champion in the company’s history, the young star is redefining the meaning of being a champion with his character work.
He has had to go through many tough challenges to get here, however. MJF has defended his title against names such as Bryan Danielson, Adam Cole, Kenny Omega, Jon Moxley and many more in his year-long reign as top champion of AEW.
MJF is NOT a fan of Hulk Hogan
The many title defences have also led to many injuries for the Salt of The Earth. He recently visited Dr. Beau Hightower to get some adjustments before his Full Gear match. During the session, the AEW champion was asked about Hulk Hogan and why he is hated by the wrestling community. The AEW star spent no time getting to the point:
“Because he’s a liar and a racist, you know. It doesn’t change the fact that he was a massive draw, and the professional wrestling business will never be the same because of him, for the better. But there are plenty of professional wrestlers that did great business. It doesn’t mean that they’re great people.”
The 27-year-old explained his point with an example. He mentioned how wrestling fans sometimes struggle with separating the character of a talent from his real-life self:
“Chris Benoit was a great professional wrestler. It doesn’t mean that he was a good person. I think for some reason, wrestling fans kind of struggle with that. They can’t separate the two. Which is why I think people love me. Because I’m out and out a horrible person, and I’m honest about it. It’s like, at least I’m honest about it.”
