MJF references CM Punk pipebomb during AEW Dynamite

Last updated

AEW star MJF put Chris Jericho through the second ‘Trial of Jericho’ on this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite.

Jericho had to go one-on-one with Deathmatch King Nick Gage, and following the match Maxwell Jacob Friedman cut a promo that had some elements of CM Punk’s famous ‘pipebomb.’

CM Punk cut the now iconic promo back on RAW in 2011, with a worked shoot ahead of his Money In The Bank 2011 match with John Cena for the WWE Championhip.

‘Chris, as you sit there in more pain than you’ve ever been in your entire life, I want you to listen to me,’ is what MJF said to Jericho after the match.

This sounded very close to ‘John Cena, while you lay there, hopefully as uncomfortable as you can possibly be, I want you to listen to me,’ which is what Punk said back in 2011.
