The return date for an AEW star and former Tag Team Champion appears to have been revealed following their latest injury misfortune.

According to a new report from PWInsider, Rey Fenix is set to make his return to the ring at an independent show in the near future.

“Jeremy Boone sent word that Ring of Honor Tag Team Champion Rey Fenix is currently advertised to face Gringo Loco for Chicago’s AAW on May 6th.  That could be his return date to the ring” the site revealed.

It has not been confirmed when the former AEW Tag Team Champion could be making his return to an All Elite ring, but it should hopefully be fairly soon.

Fenix’s hiatus from All Elite began following the Lucha Brothers’ successful title defence against Powerhouse Hobbs & QT Marshall back at AEW Battle of the Belts IV.

Fenix did not appear at AAA Triplemania earlier this month when he was expected to. It’s currently unclear if an injury was suffered during the match he had at Battle for the Belts IV or if he went into the contest already hurt.
