All Elite Wrestling star Saraya recently responded to claims that she has not been cleared to wrestle for the company.
The former Paige in WWE made a huge debut for the company during this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite, and the commentators seemed to insinuate that she could “go” in the ring.
Writing in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer claimed that the British wrestler hadn’t actually yet been cleared to compete.
“If she is going to wrestle, and can go at her prior level, she will be a good addition. But it was notable in her run-in she didn’t touch anyone, and with WWE, not only was she not allowed to wrestle, but nobody was allowed to touch her” Meltzer began.
“We were told that she had not been cleared as of very recently, which would explain not touching anyone, but would like to be cleared. She is refereeing for her family’s WAW promotion in a few weeks” Meltzer concluded.
Saraya reacts to rumors
Responding to this, Saraya took to Twitter and claimed that fans need to ignore comments made by ‘clickbait dirt sheets.’
“Ignore the dirt sheet click bait. See ya Wednesday. #AEWDynamite” the former WWE Divas Champion wrote online.
