Thunder Rosa has provided a not-so-encouraging update on her recovery.
Rosa held the AEW Women’s World Title when she went on a hiatus last year. Tony Khan originally introduced an interim Women’s Championship. The 36-year-old was eventually stripped of the world title, however, when it became clear that she won’t be able to return anytime soon.
She last competed in a tag team match during the August 10 episode of AEW Dark: Elevation. 9 months later, there is still no solid timetable for her return. It seems like even the AEW star is not sure when or if she will be making a comeback.
Thunder Rosa is not feeling good
The wrestling star was recently interviewed by AdFreeShows.com (H/t Wrestlingnews.co). She discussed the upcoming AEW Wembly show among other things. When asked about her recovery, Thunder Rosa said that some weeks have been really dark:
“This week, I’m doing very well. Thank you for asking. There’s been some weeks, and I’m not gonna lie, it’s been really dark, especially when you think you’re making steps to coming back to the ring and the pain does not leave your body.”
Rosa explained that she has been doing everything to get better. However, even then, there are weeks where she feels like she will never return to the ring again:
“Some weeks I’ve been very, very dark and I just feel like I’m never gonna wrestle again, and some other weeks, things are going really, but when I get in the ring, it’s not so well.”
