AEW President Tony Khan spoke to the media following the AEW Full Gear PPV event on Saturday night from Minnesota.
Khan discussed several topics during the media scrum, including the match between CM Punk and Eddie Kingston where some fans were booing the recently returned Second City Saint.
‘I remember being the only person out of 70,000 cheering for The Rock in Toronto” Tony Khan began, comparing the reaction that Punk got to The Rock at WrestleMania 18.
“My friend looked over me like, ‘what are you doing?’ I was like, ’˜somebody has to.’ That’s how I felt about Punk getting booed tonight [at Full Gear]” Khan continued.
“There were way more Punk people tonight than there were Rock people in Toronto. I can attest as I was there for both shows” the AEW President concluded.
