Tony Khan wants Sting to continue wrestling for as long as he wants.

The upcoming AEW show in Wembley Stadium UK is already on the path to be a huge financial success for the company. With over 60,000 tickets sold, the promotion now has to book a card worthy of the fan’s support.

One big rumour is that we will see Sting’s retirement match at the event. The Icon has had a career resurgence in AEW. He has been involved in some wild matches since joining the company. At 64 years old, however, the former WCW star knows his days in the ring are numbered and he has recently been talking about his age as well.

Tony Khan wants to make it a big event involving Sting

The AEW President was asked about the wrestling legend’s retirement during the Double or Nothing media call. Khan claimed that he will like the former champion to compete for as long as he wants:

‘I am going to try and keep Sting wrestling and active as long as he wants to do it. He hasn’t really given me a set time. He’s mentioned it at times that he’s not going to wrestle forever. Truth be told, I would like Sting to compete as long as he wants.”

Tony Khan mentioned how Sting adds a lot to the AEW programming. He then explained that whenever the wrestling veteran does decide to call it a career, they will make it a big event:

‘Whenever he does decide that it’s time for his last match, we would definitely want to make it a big event and I think it’s one of, frankly, the biggest moments out there in pro wrestling right now; Sting’s retirement match.”
