The Young Bucks were close to the Briscoe Brothers and the two teams shared the ring many times during their ROH days. It’s only natural that the AEW stars are devastated by the sudden passing of Jay Briscoe in a car accident.

The latest Being The Elite installment included a video of the Young Bucks from January 18th. They talked about the passing of Jay the day before. During the video, Nick Jackson revealed that the stars were not required to attend Dynamite tapings that day:

‘Today, it’s completely voluntary for the wrestlers to come to the show because a lot of us, we came up in the business with him, a lot of the current AEW roster. Obviously, we own ROH too, so a lot of his brothers work in our locker room.”

The AEW champion claimed that Briscoe’s passing hurt him more than his own family. Matt Jackson then revealed that they tried to sign The Briscoes when AEW first started:

‘I remember when we first started AEW, we told him, we wanted to start the tag division, we said, ’˜We need the Lucha Brothers, and we need the Briscoe brothers. We need those sets of brothers. We want the three best brother tag teams in the world, and they were one of our first teams we tried to hire.”
