The former WWE Divas Champion Saraya(Paige in WWE) recently shocked the fans when she made her debut at the recent AEW Dynamite Grand Slam. The event saw a Fatal Four-way match for the Interim AEW Women’s World Championship that featured the reigning champ Toni Storm, Serena Deeb, Athena, and Britt Baker. After Storm successfully retained her title, the former WWE star made her way down to the ring. Fans have been wondering if she will be competing in the ring given her history of neck injuries.
During the post-match segment, Saraya came to the aid of Storm and Athena as the heels were assaulting them. Fans noted how Saraya didn’t get physical with anyone, leading some to believe that she wasn’t fit to compete, which was later confirmed by Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer, who said she wasn’t medically cleared.

She is certainly looking to get back in the ring, and in an update from Meltzer on his Figure Four Daily Update Column, the final decision will be made by AEW’s company doctor, Dr. Michael Sampson. Sampson can often be seen at ringside tending to wrestlers’ injuries during and after matches, as well tending to wrestlers in the trainers room once the performers head back through the curtain.
Jim Ross comments on the Saraya possibly working inside the ring
AEW veteran commentator Jim Ross made it clear that he wants Saraya to compete in AEW during the Grilling Jr podcast.
‘Paige, Saraya, I’m assuming she’s going to be healthy enough to wrestle. I don’t know. I’m assuming she is. So we’ll see. She’s a positive addition if so. So it’s good for the women’s division, I think. She was a good hand and still is a good hand. I’m hoping that she’s healthy enough to go.’
We will see if she actually makes her return to in-ring competition.
