Backstage news on current ALL OUT plans for AEW world championship

AEW has announced a title unification match between CM Punk and Jon Moxley for next week’s Dynamite. People are speculating that this will lead to the return of MJF and we will get to see the winner of next week’s match facing him at ALL OUT.

A new report however, suggests that this might not be the case and the match on next week’s Dynamite may not end as expected. According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Newsletter, CM Punk vs Jon Moxley is still internally listed for the upcoming show and there doesn’t appear to be a backup plan for this:

‘Currently, the 9/4 All Out PPV has CM Punk vs. Jon Moxley for both belts (this is not announced and not 100 percent, but it is being talked about as the current plan and there doesn’t appear to be a backup plan).’

Elsewhere in the newsletter, Meltzer also noted that MJF is expected to return ‘somewhat soon.’ He didn’t say if it’s going to be anytime before ALL OUT.

The Punk vs. Moxley feud is making headlines for other reasons as well. Reports have claimed that not all of Punk’s promo on Dynamite was pre-planned. The AEW champion now has heat backstage for unexpectedly calling out Hangman Page during his promo.
