Bobby Fish’s AEW run came to an abrupt end in August this year when the two sides couldn’t agree on a new contract. His sudden departure from the company also fuelled many wild rumours. One such rumour was that Fish wanted to go back to WWE after Triple H took over the creative. He tried to convince both Adam Cole and Kyle O’Reilly to come with him but they refused, leaving Bobby Fish in a limbo.
The former AEW star addressed these rumours on his Undisputed podcast (H/t Fightful). He first joked about not understanding contracts and expressed his surprise at how many outlets picked up the story:
“Guess what boys, after over 25 years in the wrestling business, I don’t know how contracts work myself, what was most troublesome and amusing at the same time was how many outlets picked up on
Bobby Fish then mentioned that the story is completely fabricated. The only people who can possibly know any such details are his former partners and Triple H:
“If there’s anybody who knows that it’s totally fabricated information, it would be me, Adam, Kyle, Hunter [Triple H], the people that they’re talking about, who didn’t do any of the things. None of it is real.”
