Jade Cargill has very quickly established herself as one of the top heels of the AEW women’s division. However, this wasn’t the original plan for her debut.

The TBS champion recently appeared on Chris Jericho’s Talk Is Jericho podcast. She discussed her short wrestling career in detail during the episode.

During the talk, Cargill revealed that she was actually being groomed for a babyface debut but the plans changed right before her first appearance:

‘I was actually being groomed to be a babyface, so when they legit popped it on me like the day of, ’˜you’re going through the heel tunnel,’ I was like, ’˜what, huh? You’re telling me I am a heel? Okay, alright, let me look into this more.’ It was shocking, I had a whole come back.’

Jade Cargill had a WWE tryout in 2019 but she wasn’t signed by the company. She made her official pro wrestling debut for AEW during the November 11, 2020 episode of Dynamite.

She competed in the TBS title tournament from November 2021 to January 2022. Cargill defeated Ruby Soho in the finals to become the Inaugural TBS champion. She has since successfully defended the title against Anna Jay and Julia Hart.
