Former WWE and Impact Wrestling star Killer Kross was considered for an AEW spot earlier this month but the talks fell through.

AEW had teased a surprise opponent for Wardlow for the May 4 edition of Dynamite earlier this month. According to Fightful Select, Kross was originally considered for this spot and the two parties were talking about it. However, the negotiations fell apart when Kross learned that his wife Scarlett would not be debuting alongside him. Per the report, he thought that this appearance could mimic his WWE debut:

‘Where we’ve heard that talks fell apart was as the date got closer, Kross became aware that his wife Scarlett would not be a part of the presentation in All Elite Wrestling. Kross was concerned that his introduction to the AEW audience would mimic that of his WWE debut against Jeff Hardy, as opposed to the successful NXT formula that helped lead him to two NXT Championships.’

After Killer Kross declined the spot, it went to William Morrissey, formerly known as Big Cass in WWE. Though this doesn’t necessarily mean that we won’t see Kross in AEW in the future. The site notes that the two sides are on good terms and they are open to working together in future.
