There have been a ton of rumors regarding CM Punk and his future in the company following the backstage brawl at ALL OUT.
Speaking on a PWTorch audio show, Wade Keller speculated and rumored that the Straight Edge star might not actually be returning to the company at all.
‘I think this is noteworthy but not surprising [that] he excluded CM Punk’s name as he talked about some of the biggest names who have held the title. That’s a bit of a tell” Keller began discussing the rundown of ROH Champions that were mentioned on AEW Dynamite this week.
“As I talked with Jason Powell yesterday about, I am not expecting CM Punk to wrestle in AEW again” Keller added.
“I’m not saying it’s a 100 per cent sure thing, but everything is pointing in the direction of some sort of buyout of his contract. We’ll learn more eventually about that situation” Keller concluded.
Is CM Punk leaving AEW?
It’s worth noting that this rumor from Wade Keller is just that, a rumour, as we are unable to verify whether or not the report is legitimate at this time.
If this does end up being the case, losing Punk is a massive loss for All Elite Wrestling. If you look at the numbers he has produced in terms of ratings and PPV buyrates, he has been one of the most important elements of the company for some time.
