Sting reveals being turned down for a movie role

Sting is a pro-wrestling veteran who has had a legendary career inside the squared circle. He is apparently far away from stopping even at the age of 62. He recently dived off a balcony and went through his opponent on multiple tables at AEW Revolution. It is quite hard to imagine the star as an actor but he had taken his chances back in the day. ‘The Icon’ during a recent interview released on The Players’ Tribune revealed that he had almost become an actor but ended up being rejected.

Sting opens up on the matter

The pro-wrestling legend was up for the role of Ogre in Revenge of the Nerds, the villainous, dumb, and very entertaining jock. He made it to the final two for the role but the producers snubbed him and reckoned that he did not have the suitable look for the role and Donald Gibb was picked to play the character instead.

Here is what he said:

“Some friends had convinced me to go to a few auditions around Hollywood, and I had actually just got down to the final two for a goofy part in this little movie. Unfortunately, it didn’t work out. The producers said my look wasn’t quite right, and they went with the other guy. (The little movie turned out to be Revenge of the Nerds. The goofy part was for Ogre.)’

Gibb did justice to the role in Revenge of the Nerds whereas Sting cemented his legacy in the world of pro-wrestling.
