AEW Women’s World Champion Thunder Rosa has been away from the company as she is sidelined with a back injury.

Thunder Rosa is feeling better

‘La Mera Mera’ posted a photo of herself at her therapy session for her back injury. She tweeted, “A long ways to go but feeling better with every therapy session. Thank you South Texas Spine & Joint Institute.”

Rosa recently made the announcement a couple of weeks ago that she is dealing with a back injury and that she would not be able to defend her title at the All Out pay-per-view event because of this injury. In a later interview on Busted Open Radio, she mentioned that she had previously mentioned that her back was so bad that she had difficulty moving her legs.

Based on the photos below, it appears that some progress is being made on getting her back to where it needs to be so she can return to the ring.

Meanwhile, Toni Storm went on to become the Interim AEW Women’s World Champion in Rosa’s absence. She had defeated Hikaru Shida, Jamie Hayter and Britt Baker at All Out pay-per-view. It is noted that upon Rosa’s return, a match will take place between Rosa and Storm to crown the Undisputed AEW Women’s World Champion.
