Tony Khan believes CM Punk will receive “a very positive reaction” upon his AEW return.
The Straight Edge star is finally set to return to AEW programming this Saturday at the debut episode of Collision.
This will be his first pro wrestling appearance since the All Out brawl back in September last year. Punk was stripped of the AEW title after a backstage altercation with The Elite.
Many of the fans blame the former AEW champion for the tensions that led to the incident. The various reports that have come out since then have turned a number of AEW fans against the wrestling star. This is why people believe that the reaction to Punk will not be favourable when he does return to TV.

Tony Khan is sure CM Punk will receive a great reaction
AEW President Tony Khan commented on the matter during his appearance on the Rasslin’ podcast. Khan said that he expects a positive reaction for CM Punk, particularly in Chicago:
‘I think it’ll be very exciting to see how the fans react, but I expect a very positive reaction, particularly in Chicago for the first episode. I think then, going forward, CM Punk’s one of the most popular wrestlers in the world, so certainly he’s gonna get a great reaction.
Khan explained that Punk has an amazing ability to connect with the crowd and get the desired reaction. According to him, it’s part of his longevity:
“Depending on who his opponent and the type of reaction he’s trying to get, I expect CM Punk to connect with the crowd as well as anybody in the entire pro wrestling business. He had an amazing connection with the fans, and I think that’s part of his longevity and his mystique is his amazing connection with the crowd.”
