It was recently confirmed by Eddie Hearn’ Matchroom Boxing that Dillian Whyte will be taking on Alexander Povetkin in March. Last week the promotion confirmed that Whyte vs Povetkin 2 will headline a card on Sky Box Office on March 6th.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Whyte said that ‘I just want to get in there and smash his face in, to be honest. Just get in there, have a fight, let’s go toe to toe and let’s have it. I’m just glad that there is nowhere for him to try and hide behind and try and run.”

“He wasted time, letting me get ready for two fights, and then cancelled them at the last minute” Whyte continued. “Of course I’m going to be annoyed. I’m not going to be sat there and laughing. I had a great camp. I’m going to be pissed off and annoyed.’
In their August 2020 fight, Whyte appeared to be in control, after dropping Povetkin twice in the fourth round. Dillian Whyte would end up tasting defeat when Povetkin hit him with a brutal uppercut in the fifth.
