Mercedes Mone(formerly Sasha Banks in WWE) is gearing up to script history in New Japan Pro Wrestling. With her major match coming up at NJPW’s pay-per-view, Battle in the Valley on Saturday, February 18 2023 fast approaching, Mone is speaking out.

In a series of interviews, Moné shares her perspective on her exciting upcoming battle with KAIRI for the IWGP Women’s Championship.
When speaking to Justin Barrasso from Sports Illustrated, Mercedes noted that she had to continue her follow her childhood dreams in professional wrestling. Mercedes said:
‘I had no other choice; I had to chase this dream,
‘I am a motherf’”ing history maker. I’m a first-timer’”that’s what I’m known for, and this is the first step in my global tour. It all starts tomorrow night when I become the IWGP women’s champion, a championship I plan on taking all over the world.’
Mercedes will face a former WWE rival, KAIRI, for the IWGP Women’s Championship at the NJPW Battle In The Valley event in San Jose, California on February 18.
