Shawn Michaels says they are still in the organizing stage for NXT Europe, and that they want to do it right.
WWE launched the NXT UK brand in June 2018 as part of its plan to expand the development system worldwide. After facing many challenges, including global restrictions, the brand was put on a hiatus.
In August 2022, the company confirmed that the UK-specific show will be relaunched as NXT Europe. Though there haven’t been a lot of updates on the rebranded show since then.
Shawn Michaels wants to cross every T
The Senior Vice President of Talent Development Creative, Shawn Michaels, was asked about the show in an interview with Daily Mail. He said that they are hoping to launch it by the end of this year:
‘Things are still in the organizational stage and we are hoping we will have that up and running by the end of 2023.”
The WWE Hall of Famer also talked about running the NXT UK brand and called it a learning experience. He said that NXT Europe isn’t something they want to just throw together:
‘I’m really learning. It isn’t something you just throw together, especially if you want to set it up for success. I think everyone would feel a bit more comfortable if it takes a little bit longer to make sure we cross every ’˜t’ and dot every ’˜I’, but still looking forward to trying to make that a reality by the end of 2023.’
