UFC President Dana White recently spoke to TMZ Sports. The outspoken head of the company discussed a number of topics during the interview, including the potential fight between Julianna Pena and Amanda Nunes.
‘So Julianna Pena has been driving me f*ckin’ bananas” said to TMZ. “[She] will not stop terrorizing me, [saying] that she deserves this fight. Amanda Nunes this, Amanda Nunes that, Amanda’s ducking her, Amanda doesn’t want her because the style doesn’t match up well for Amanda.”
“So I’m thinking about doing Pena & Nunes,’ White stated.
Julianna Pena has mentioned in many interviews recently that Nunes has been ‘ducking’ her. Chael Sonnen recently claimed that Pena told him it was on 3 occasions that Pena didn’t get the fight against Nunes.

‘I want to fight for the title. [The bantamweight title] has not been defended for over a year’ Pena stated recently when speaking to Ariel Helwani. ‘If you’re not going to fight, then give it up, get the F out of here and let someone else fight for it. If she wants to stay fat at 145 [pounds], do that then.’
‘All these girls who fight at 145 can make 135, I hope you know that,’ Julianna Pena said to Helwani. ‘They can make the weight. They just want to be lazy and they don’t want to cut. 135 pounds is where the fights are at. No one cares about the 145-pound division; it’s dead, it’s done.’
It remains to be seen if the UFC will make the fight happen.
