BREAKING: Khabib Nurmagomedov Announcing Retirement Decision Tonight

Much has been made about the meeting between UFC President Dana White and UFC Lightweight Champion Khabib Nurmagomedov this week.

The UFC President met with Khabib in Abu Dhabi to discuss if the current UFC Lightweight Champion would retire or chase the 30-0 record. Khabib Nurmagomedov ‘retired’ last year after defeating Justin Gaethje and retaining his Lightweight Championship at UFC 254.

Khabib Reveals Tonight!

There were a number of reasons why Khabib opted to retire at 29-0, the primary one being that he didn’t want to continue fighting without his father in his corner. Khabib’s father passed away last year following complications with COVID-19, and Khabib confirmed that he had promised his mother that he would no longer fight.

Dana White confirmed that Khabib would be announcing his decision LIVE on UFC Fight Night on ABC tonight. Check out the Tweet below from the UFC President:
