Former Liverpool and current Zenit player Dejan Lovren recently sparred with MMA legend Mirko Cro Cop.
The former Premier League defender took to Instagram to thank Cro Cop for the training session. “Had this morning a short training session against @crocop1009. What a beast this man still is. Was a big pleasure Mirko. Thank you.”
Dejan Lovren lasted around 50 seconds sparring with the Croatian mixed martial artist. Mirko Cro Cop has an impressive career record of 38-11-2-1, including fights in the UFC and PRIDE Fighting Championships.  Â

Even at a slower pace, Cro Cop can still go with the best of them. The Croatian legend has been in the ring and octagon with some the biggest names in the sport’s history; these include Fedor Emelianenko, Josh Barnett, Cheick Kongo, Wanderlei Silva and Kazushi Sakuraba.
Cro Cop’s final fight of his career came back in 2019 for Bellator MMA. The PRIDE legend defeated Roy Nelson via unanimous decision at Bellator 216 – MVP vs Daley.
Judging from the footage, it’s fair to say that Lovren should probably stick to football. Ironically, his defence in Brazilian Ju-Jitsu is terrible…and his footwork leaves a lot to be desired!
