Frankie Edgar Issues Statement Following Horrific Knockout

Frankie Edgar has issued a statement following his UFC Fight Night co-main event bout this past Saturday. Edgar was brutally knocked out early in the first round by Cory Sandhagen with a jumping knee that caught Frankie Edgar square on the jaw.

“I’ve licked my wounds long enough” Frankie Edgar began in his statement. “I’m home with my family, life is good. On Saturday I was as prepared for a fight as I could have been. Props to Cory Sandhagen, he landed a perfectly timed and executed bomb on me, luckily I don’t remember it much lol.”

“This game can be a cruel b***h and Saturday night was just that” Edgar continued. “But I ain’t panicked, I been here before. Thank you to my family, team and friends who really are all one in the same for continually giving me the love and support it takes to be a fighter. The loyalty and unconditional love and guidance you all give me is truly unbelievable. I love you all more than you know.”

Frankie Edgar finished by thanking his fans and confirming that he would be back in the UFC. It was not confirmed by Edgar if he would be returning to the Bantamweight division. “To my fans who always ride with me I appreciate you all and you make this fun for me.
