Israel Adesanya will be heading to the main event of tonight’s UFC 259 card when he challenges for the UFC Light Heavyweight Championship. The current Middleweight Champion looks to become Champ Champ and join an illustrious handful group of fighters from the company’s past.

One of the greatest fighters in the UFC LHW division Jon Jones however believes that Adesanya will not be getting his hand raised at the end of the fight. Jones recently tweeted “Jan by KO,” signalling that Jan Blachowicz will retain his Championship tonight.

There have been rumours that Jon Jones would get the winner of the UFC 260 Heavyweight title fight later in the year. This would put Israel Adesanya and Jones in different divisions, but there’s still potential for a megafight between the two at some point.

Speaking recently to Ariel Helwani, Israel Adesanya stated that he is still interested in a fight against ’˜Bones’ Jones. ‘Unfortunately, it may not be in summer or July, but there is still December. There is still December 2021.’ Adesanya did also mention that the fight will need to be in front of a crowd. ‘All I know is that fight needs a crowd. I can’t do that in an empty arena.’
