UFC fighter Diego Sanchez recently revealed that his next UFC fight will be his last. Sanchez has been part of the company for an extremely long time, having appeared on the very first season of The Ultimate Fighter.
Sanchez claimed that he’ll let Dana White decide his final fight and then he’d ride off into the sunset. Michael Bisping, who himself won the Ultimate Fighter season 3, gave his own take on who should face Sanchez in his last ever fight in the octagon.
“The co-main event this weekend is Carlos Condit taking on Matt Brown” Bisping began on the Believe You Me podcast. “There’s two trains of thought, but I don’t think the UFC, we’d ever know, but I know that Diego and Dana White have a great relationship. Dana’s like that with all those original guys from the UItimate Fighter Season 1, they have a special place in his heart.”

“I don’t think he’s going to try and throw Sanchez to the wolves, shall we say” Bisping continued. “And I feel the correct matchup for him is someone of similar stature who’s been around for a long, long time. A household name, and someone that will deliver a fun fight in his final matchup.”
“As I said, Carlos Condit versus Matt Brown is the co-main event this weekend. And if Carlos Condit was to win? If Carlos Condit was to call Diego Sanchez out? I don’t think they’ve fought before. And hey, even a rematch with Matt Brown, who knows, but still one of those two guys. In a perfect world, to me? I think Carlos Condit just because they haven’t fought before, we’ve already seen Matt Brown versus Diego. If Carlos Condit can win that fight [against Brown] I think that’s a beautiful fight for Diego to leave on.”
