UFC Flyweight Erin Blanchfield recently issued a statement after signing with the company. Blanchfield is a 6-1 fighter in MMA at only 21 years old and she’s already being considered as a top prospect for the company going forward.

“UFC debut, April 10th” Erin Blanchfield wrote on Instagram. “Thank you to Shannon Knapp [Invicta FC CEO] for letting me take this opportunity. And thank you to Invicta FC as a whole for helping me grow and develop as a fighter. Let’s get it.”

It was revealed on Thursday of this week that Blanchfield had signed for the company. The newly minted Flyweight will be facing Norma Dumont on short notice at next weekend’s UFC on ABC 2 card.

Erin Blanchfield Debuts Next Weekend

Dumont was originally set to fight Bea Malecki on the ABC next weekend but had to pull out of the fight. The contest will be taking place at 135lbs, but Erin Blanchfield will be returning to Flyweight shortly after.

This is a huge platform for the young fighter, with the card being the second to air on the ABC network. Norma Dumont however is no pushover, with a 5-1 record in MMA herself. Dumont’s loss came at the hands of Megan Anderson back at UFC’s Fight Night February 29th 2020.
