The UFC has confirmed that former Cage Warriors featherweight champion Paddy Pimblett has signed a ‘free agent’ contract with the company.
Both the UFC and Cage Warriors confirmed that the 26-year-old had signed for the top promotion in Mixed Marital Arts earlier today. UFC wrote “Cage Warriors?! Completed it, mate! Welcome to the UFC @PaddyTheBaddy!”
Cage Warriors reportedly allowed Pimblett to be approached by the UFC and sent out the following to Twitter congratulating the fighter. “Breaking: @PaddyTheBaddy has signed for the UFC! Everyone here at Cage Warriors wishes Paddy all the best in the UFC #UFCPaddy.”

The 16-3 fighter recently spoke to The Metro about the announcement. “My first reaction was, ’˜well it’s about time,’ Pimblett told Metro.co.uk. ’˜We all know it was inevitable I was going to get signed.”
“[Cage Warriors CEO] Graham [Boylan] rang me on Monday to tell me it had already happened within 48 hours of me fighting” Pimblett continued. “I was very happy. I couldn’t believe it happened that quickly but it just goes to show I am the boy and they need me.”
