UFC fighter Tracy Cortez recently spoke to RT.com ahead of her UFC this weekend. The returning fighter last competed back at UFC Fight Island, so this will be her first fight in the United States in quite some time.

Cortez fights Justine Kish at UFC Fight Night: Whittaker vs Gastelum this Saturday night; the Flyweight division fighter seems determined to rise the ranks in the division.

“No rich parents. No favors. Definitely no excuses. This year everyone will know who [I am]” Tracy Cortez said. “A rising star. A champ in the making. I’m f***ing coming for everything I’ve worked so hard for.”

Cortez also discussed her time in Abu Dhabi at the Fight Island complex, saying that she would not like to do it again if possible. “I’m happy I did it,” she told MMA Fighting about the experience. “Would I do it again? Probably not. It was long.”

“I’m not satisfied. That win for me is just like, ‘yeah, I passed this ’“ on to the next one'” Cortez continued. “Even though I should enjoy the victory and I worked hard on it, I want to move up in the rankings.”
