WWE Hall of Famer Stone Cold Steve Austin recently revealed why the rumoured WrestleMania 39 match he was offered did not take place.

Speaking to Chris Van Vliet on his Insight podcast, Austin revealed that he was asked to do a match but his schedule didn’t make is feasible.

“They [WWE] asked me to be a part of [WrestleMania] 39. They did, and I couldn’t do it just because there was no way [I could prepare]” Austin began.

“I knew what my life was going to look like doing the filming schedule of this show. We had some internal stop-downs where this show took about five months to film, and that’s a long time” Stone Cold revealed.

“We finished filming about five to seven days before WrestleMania 39. And the position they were going to put me in, which would have been a big one, you can’t prepare for WrestleMania and do yourself justice or do the crowd justice” SCSA added.

It is not currently known if Austin is likely to be performing at WrestleMania 40 in Philly next year, but he doesn’t rule it out: “I’m not going to sit here and lobby for one because that’d be silly. It’s a year away, but a year away in this business goes like that. I’m not lobbying for it, but could anything happen? Yes. Because I always say never say never” Stone Cold Steve Austin concluded.
