Triple H has been on a hiring spree ever since he became the head of creative. He has brought back many significant NXT names from the time he was leading the brand. It appears another entry to the list will be added soon.
Fightful Select is reporting that the promotion has discussed bringing back former NXT and Raw tag team champions Authors of Pain:
“Fightful Select has learned that Akam and Rezar, collectively known as the Authors of Pain or AOP, have been discussed for a potential return to the WWE. Both were an integral part of the NXT Black and Gold brand before being called up to WWE Raw.”

Unlike the last time they were on the main roster, the AOP this time will not be on their own. The possibility of bringing back their original manager Paul Ellering has also been discussed:
“In addition, the possibility of their longtime, original manager Paul Ellering was also discussed. He managed them during their NXT run before being abandoned on the main roster.”
Authors of Pain won the Dusty Rhodes tag team classic tournament and the NXT tag titles during their time with the brand. On the main roster they had a run with the Raw tag team titles and were also paired with Seth Rollins before their release in 2020.
