Cody Rhodes made a lot of new friends during his time away from WWE. Many of them helped the American Nightmare as he was recovering from his shoulder injury. One such friend was Ricky Starks who was spotted with Rhodes in a viral photo before his Royal Rumble return.
The former TNT champion talked about being spotted with the AEW star in an interview with Inside The Ropes (H/t Wrestlingnews.co). Rhodes mentioned how he helped Stark get started in AEW but explained that it’s probably the best for his outside friends to not visit him at shows anymore:
“I will say it’s probably best that none of my friends come and visit me at the shows anymore. We don’t need security cam footage of that. Poor dude. I hope he didn’t get in any trouble. I don’t think he did.”
Cody Rhodes doesn’t want to cause any strife
Cody Rhodes revealed that Ricky Starks helped him with his recovery process. While he was happy to see Starks at the Rumble, it’s probably best to watch each other from distance in future:
“I was happy to have him, and I had some other friends there. The other friends stayed on the bus because they were not crazy yayhoos. Hopefully, we can watch each other from a distance. I don’t want to cause any strife between any places.”
