There have been a ton of reports regarding the morale backstage in the AEW locker room, but what is the latest on the situation?

The company recently held a talent meeting, led by Tony Khan, where issues were addressed including the morale in the locker room.

Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer discussed the talent meeting, saying that there were things that were addressed and things that weren’t, such as the issues surrounding CM Punk.

“It certainly started the situation with Adam Page and Punk, and if you watch the show (last night), there was no Adam Page, there was no answering it (Punk’s callout last week), there was no mention of him in the Punk/Moxley match, anything that would turn this into an angle.

“Not saying that they won’t later, but that, whatever it is, I don’t know what the truth is, I’ll just say that, to clear the air, they needed to tell whatever the story is (in the meeting), and did not.

‘So in that situation, you still have the same situation, so that was not addressed. They definitely have to get certain things under control there, because a lot’s happened in a short period of time” Meltzer concluded.

AEW Backstage Issues

PWInsider also reported on the situation, writing: “Khan, who we were told was very animated and impassioned, broke down a lot of the new systems and structures recently implemented (e.g., expansion of talent relations and development) and how they are in place to make things better for the talents.

“Khan also made it clear that AEW was in an industry ‘that has long been dominated by WWE,’ and that he had put everything into it to make things better for the talents.

“Khan also stated that right before the meeting took place, AEW’s Megha Parekh, the Chief Legal Officer for the company, who is effectively the #2 in the promotion’s hierarchy, sent an email to WWE’s Nick Khan and Stephanie McMahon warning them ‘not to tamper’ with his talent.”
